Artist's Description

Mulberry harbor developed for the D-Day invasion of Normandy. Installed on Omaha beach after D-Day, the a steel roadway was supported by prefabricated concrete caissons. It was designed to receive troops, weapons, and supplies until the battered ports of Normandy were repaired. June 10-19, 1944, World War 2. (BSLOC_2014_2_64)
